birds eye witness

We heard the shot, it wasn't someone dropping something.
As I went to the window we heard another.
I saw her with the gun in one hand ranting and raving yelling, but I could not hear. I thought she fired into the air. I dialed the phone not knowing. The report I made was "crazed woman brandishing a gun". The others were watching through the window.  I went to the stair well and looked out the elongated window. She was laying on the ground by the light post. I could see the dark blood starting to saturate the ground around her. Her shoe was in the driveway. A Man's tie was on the laying there too.The man was kneeling over her trying to help her.  I could not hear her moans. I was on the fourth floor. I could not see that I knew her, only in passing.  In passing I saw she was a serious woman, not mean, but not gregarious.
She had a serious job, I would later find out.
She had two children.
She had a husband.
She had a dog named Griffon.
Her life was taken from her and her family and the society that she worked tirelessly to protect.
